Many beautiful gardens will be open to the public, to raise money for St. Andrews "Kitchen and Loo" fund. St. Andrews and it's bell tower will also be open.
Tickets will be available on the day at St. Andrews Church and participating gardens.
Tickets will also be available two weeks prior at the following shops in the village:-
Ziel, PJ's Cafe and Graze
Last year With a little help from the sun we had our most successful open Gardens yet with over 200 people visiting we raised £722 for St. Andrews “kitchen and loo” fund, which is fantastic and double what we took in 2006.
Listening to comments on the day, it seems that Earls Colne Open Gardens is getting quite a reputation with people visiting from as far as Leigh on Sea, Southend and Raleigh.
As we were closed this year Shaun took quite a few photographs.
We also raised a total of £260 for other charities with tea
and cakes around the village.
The charities that benefited from this were:
Essex Air Ambulance
Breast Cancer Research UK
RSPCA
NSPCC
Local cats charity
Letchworth Multiple Sclerosis Rehab Centre
If you are considering taking part this year, remember, you don’t need a large and perfect garden to open it to the public. People like to see what you've done with your garden and how you’ve developed it over the years. They commiserate with you over difficult areas, (too shady, too dry) and don't mind looking at the compost heap or dandelions in your lawn; people are looking for ideas, as well as being able to comment on your hard work.
If you would like to be involved in next years open gardens please send Kirsten your details using the form below or call her on 224913.
