The Essex Golf and Country Club

The club boasts an 18-hole and a 9-hole course, a 20-bay driving range, Learner Academy Centre, the most up-to-date hi-tech video teaching studio, and an indoor practice bunker.

The 6,900-yard, 18-hole County Course has already won critical acclaim for its challenging yet fair features. With four par 3's, nine par4's, five par 5's, 10 lakes and strategically placed bunkering give a spectacular beginning and finale to the round, the course provides a constant choice of shots for golfers of all standards. Take the conservative route with a more difficult shot to follow, or go for it setting yourself up for glory or complete disaster!

The 2,200-yard, short par 34 Garden Course, offers a different challenge altogether. Its tightly guarded greens, tricky par 4's and attractive par 3's present an intriguing and popular challenge to beginners and experts alike.

Regular golfers will be particularly impressed by the ever-improving standard of greens, tees and fairways. With a fully computerised irrigation system using water from the Club's own 13-million gallon reservoir and over 40 miles of drainage pipes the course remain open virtually every day of the year.

The Colne Valley Golf Club

Colne Valley Golf Club is situated in the heart of the Colne Valley, with the River Colne meandering the length of the picturesque course; there is no better venue to escape from the rigours of modern life.

Constructed in 1989 and opened in 1991, the surprisingly mature parkland layout belies its tender years, uncommon in a course so relatively new. Natural water hazards and well defined bunkers, along with U.S.G.A. standard greens offer year round playability, and a stimulating test for golfers of all abilities.
